Game 1 Tonight, no more practice beard

Game 1 is tonight and my beard is right where I expected it to be, the question remains will the Flyers be where I expect them to be?

Still snapping beard pics on my cell phone so again another not so descriptive picture at the bottom. Please don't be fooled by the bad picture quality pledging my beard is a good investment! It tends to grow a bit faster once the games actually start. I'm not sure if there is any medical reason for it, but then again, as I've said numerous times before, I'm not a doctor. So far I'm only at $50.00, far behind the leaders (but let me state this is not a competition, all donations go to Flyers Charities so we're all in first place in the end......at least that's what I keep telling my $50 self) but I want to make sure that everyone makes sure the donation goes to my specific profile instead of the overall pledging everyone's beard, because I want to prove that facial hair related blogs can be a successful fund raising tool. (I'm trying to convince Riley Cote to hold a Moustache's for MS fund raiser)

Anyway, not much content today as I'm just getting more and more jacked up for tonight's game. It'll also be our first glimpse at Playoff growth of the Flyers and I'll probably mention tomorrow how I rate them.

Beard Blog, bloggin' bout Beards!

Despite the fact that my phone doesn't take very detailed pics (see bottom of post) there is some noticeable growth, but nothing above Hollywood scruff.

Which brings me to my first beard related thought....how do they keep that going? I'm assuming the obvious of a nice trimmer, but I never was able to do that. Electric razors and my face aren't really friends, but I would love to keep a nice little scruff going year round. And by year round I clearly mean until I go clean shaven the day before playoffs!

A nice scruff is what I like to call dangerously classy. It's definitely suitable to gain some respect, but totally appropriate to go muckin' it up in the bars.

On that note let me give you three reasons why you should donate today:
1) It goes to charity! I know it's a cheap reason, but it still is true!
2) I only have $25.00 raised! (Or so the site says) Which means it's almost unfair to enjoy this blog without at least pledging some support to the cause this blog promotes!
3) Feel apart of the beard - every bit you donate is like buying stock in my beard. When you look up on the jumbotron or see pics of me with my beard, you are apart of that moment! From males that can't grow to females that better not, everyone can be apart of the magic that is, a playoff beard!

Hey everyone!

I'm not sure who my audience will be for this, if any at all, but I figured it was a fun addition to my profile at www.beardathon.com/flyers

If you haven't checked out that site already, please do so. I am one of many people growing a playoff beard for the Flyers quest for Lord Stanley's Cup. In addition, I am hoping to raise money for Flyers Charities through the website www.beardathon.com/flyers. Every day or so I will post an updated picture of my playoff beard and hopefully write here about my beard and such, with occasional commentary on the Flyers playoff run. This blog is intended to be for fun and entertainment, so I will tend to avoid deep hockey talk (if I can!).

Some quick notes:
- I always start my playoff beard from nothing because I feel once the regular season is over, you wipe the slate clean and begin your journey. I tend to grow facial hair at a good pace, and if any one saw my beard last year it can get pretty glorious.
- The art of trimming to be more acceptable to society is another thing I don't do. A hockey fan is who I am. It's not going to be pretty, it won't look professional, but it will look like Shawny - The Hockey Fan.
- I'm interested to see which Flyers I can outgrow. Dark horse for best beard - Darroll Powe
- Blog related: Please don't junk up my comments with negative or unrelated posts. 1) I probably will only skim the comments to begin with, so you're not really posting to me. 2) This is focused more on raising money for Flyers Charaities in a fun way, not a forum to critize.

Anyway, I hope I properly introduced this blog and I hope any that read it get some enjoyment out of it.
